dc.description.abstract The present study aimed at developing the Literary Appreciation skills among the Prep – School Students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A list of these skills, as well as a Scale for measuring Literary Appreciation skills, was developed and validated by a jury of experts. A teacher’s guide was developed for using Thinking Aloud strategy. The present study was conducted to 82 seventh -grade pupils at the Prep - School stage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study sample was divided into two groups: experimental (n= 41) and control (n= 41). The results revealed that the first year pupils in the primary school weak in the literary appreciation skills at general and Sub- Skills in literary appreciation, and also Thinking Aloud strategy was effective in developing the Literary Appreciation skills in general. The strategy developed the articulation by the Literary Appreciation skills by using Thinking Aloud strategy. en_US
