dc.description.abstract The present rsearch aimed to identify the level of self-awareness among a sample of faculty members who speak Arabic at the Abu Dhabi University. The rsearch sample consisted of (90) faculty members Ph.D. and master's holders from scientific, social and humanitarian disciplines in University branches: Abu Dhabi and AlAin. The Arabian version of the self- awareness scale standardized on the Emirati environment was applied which consists of (62) items representing a description of self- awareness and distributed on four aspects: self-critical, desire for realistic-awareness, indifference to external cues, and self-reflection. To detect the level of self-awareness, the researchers calculated the arithmetic means, and deviations from the faculty member’s performance on the four scale aspects and the scale as a whole. The results showed a medium level of self-awareness with faculty members who speak Arabic at the University of Abu Dhabi. The rsearch also found that there were no statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) or less between faculty members due to the variables gender (male/female), qualification, specialization, and years of experience. The researchers recommended the importance of academic community awareness of self-awareness and implementation of training, learning education programs for the enhancement of this skill. en_US
