dc.description.abstract This paper addresses a critical issue within the healthcare industry, where concerns regarding transparency and accountability have surfaced following certain instances of potential misconduct. In particular, there have been allegations in certain countries, asserting the situation where some healthcare institutions prolong the use of intensive care services for deceased patients to generate additional revenue, leading to a severe erosion of trust between the families of patients and these institutions. To mitigate these concerns, we offer insights into how a blockchain-based system integrated with the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) can help in solving such problems. This approach seeks to enhance trust and transparency by capturing patient data and ensuring its immutability through blockchain technology. Based on the use-case, the architecture of IoT-Blockchain can vary. The system adopts a decentralized framework for combating the addressed concerns with efficacy. The system will provide a secure, tamper-proof, and accountable mechanism that can alleviate trust issues and uphold the highest ethical standards in healthcare. Upon deploying the system the stakeholders, especially the patient’s relatives, will be able to access patient data in real-time and gain insights into the patient’s condition. en_US
