Abstract:
This study aims to investigate how the Internet of Things )IoT( will impact higher
education in the future. It employs a descriptive methodology, the Delphi method, and
three rounds of application of the questionnaire tool to a sample of 18 experts.
After the third round, the study’s experts came to agree on the potential benefits of
the Internet of Things platforms for higher education, the most significant of which is
the emergence of the Internet of Things applications for the educational sectors. The
experts also agreed on future opportunities associated with content delivery techniques,
the most significant of which is a high degree of diversity in digital information
sources. The development of new assessment strategies that are suited for education
through the Internet of Things is most significant, in addition to the agreement of
experts on future opportunities associated with mechanisms for evaluating learning
outcomes. Furthermore, the most important requirement for integrating the Internet of
Things into higher education is the introduction of academic programs in the field of
using the Internet of Things in education.
