Kuwaiti public school principals perspectives toward in-service training programs and its role in the development of leadership skills

dc.description.abstract The current study aimed to identify school principals’ perspectives towards the development of their strategic, educational, administrative and technical leadership skills, and communication skills with the community after attending post position Ministry of education training program. It also aimed to know their perspectives toward this competencies training program elements. It also mimed to investigate responses based on experience and education stage. The study adapted mixed method approach by applying 47-items questionnaire for )152( school principals, and conducting semi-structural interviews with twelve of them. The questionnaire measured the content of the training program includes four dimensions of leadership skills )strategic, educational, administrative and technical, and community skills(, and the competences of the training program elements. The results of the study indicated that the leadership skills development has obtained a high rating from the responses. No statistical differences were found regarding participants responses based on experience or education stage. While the qualitative results indicated that the interview sample was not satisfed with the content of the training program or with the competence Its elements. en_US
