Abstract:
The present study aimed to identify the patterns of professional personality
among the students of the tenth grade in Ma'an Governorate. The descriptive
predictive method was used through the data and information collection tool
)Holland scale of professional intelligence(. The sample of the study consisted
of )765( male and female students. The psychometric characteristics of the
study instrument were determined by applying it to a sample of )35( students.
Then the instrument was applied to the sample of the original study.
The results of the study showed that the six types of professional personality
)real, mental, artistic, social, adventurous, traditional( were found in the
study sample. The results also showed statistically significant differences in
personality patterns according to the gender variable. In this regard, the male
sample was found to be more inclined to the professional personality patterns
)real, social, adventurous, traditional(, whereas females tended to be more
personal )artistic and realistic(.
As well, the results showed that the patterns of professional personality
combined accounted for )31.5%( of the variation in student achievement, and
the types of occupational personality )mental, social, and adventurous( have
an impact on academic achievement.
In the light of these results, the study came out with a set of recommendations.
