Abstract:
The study examined effectiveness of rational emotive behavior Counseling
program in reducing abussive behaviors of a selected sample of Syrian Refugee
Mothers practicing aggressive behavior againest their children. Sample consisted
of (32) women who obtained the highist scores on The Abussive Behavior Scale
were selected and randomly assigned to the experimental group (16 mothers) and
control group Control group (16 mothers.To achieve aim of the study, the researchers
developed a scale of Abussive Behaviors. The second tool was the rational emotive
behavior counseling program include 17 sessions based on Ellis theory.Findings of the
study showed significant change in the behavior of mothers in the experimental group
by 98.49% according to The post- test.In addition, statistically significant difference
at the level (α=0.05) attributed to the implementation of this program were enssured.
Applying the counseling program to othere abusive mothers is recommended.
