Abstract:
The research targeted at studying the effect of the general and special preparatory exercises on the development of some basic motor abilities and skills of children in primary school (6-9) age in track and field competition in running, jumping, and throwing. A sample of 40 pupils was selected from first class. The experiment was carried for 8 weeks. The results of the dimensional measurement had resulted in superiority of the experimental sample group in the test of the motor abilities (20 m running, zigzag running, long jump from standing, gambol for 5m(left, right) adduction and abduction of arms, walking and running for 150m, tug of -war, throwing a ball (one kg) by one hand. The experimental group had also proved to be superior compared with the control group regarding the results of the track and field achievement in (50m, long jump, throwing a ball for long distance) It was recommended that the sections of the physical education lesson should be invested in building and developing the motor abilities and the preparation of a specialized staff for the application and implementation of the modern methods of teaching sports and motor education.
