dc.description.abstract This study aimed at designing an instructional software according to the principles of instructional design, and studying the effects of this software and the motion variable on sixth grade students’ achievement of certain concepts in Al- Haj. To achieve these objectives, the related literature was reviewed and then two instructional softwares were developed: one with motion pictures and the other with static pictures. These materials were studied by the two experimental groups; while the control group studied the same material by the conventional method. These three treatment groups represented the sample of the study which consisted of 107 students (45 male and 62 female) who were intentionally chosen from certain schools which use computers in education. The statistical analysis showed that there were significant differences in students’ achievements due to the methods of instruction and in favor of the instructional software, and due to the motion variable. The researcher attributed these results to the properties of the instructional software which was developed and presented in a way that motivated students and attracted their attention to the main concepts in the presentation. It was recommended that other softwares could be developed and studied in different areas by different students. en_US
