Abstract:
Education and human resources represent strategic cognitive assets that affect sustainable development. Efficiency of education can be measured through Education Expenditure %GDP. This research aimed at answering ten questions asking about the impact of Education Expenditure %GDP on: secondary and higher education enrollment ratios, knowledge index, number of scientists and engineers, number of published books, number of patents per million of population, efficiency of education &human resources, innovation, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and sustainable development. According to education expenditure %GDP ratio, one hundred forty two countries were grouped into four levels, in addition to Arab countries and World. One Way ANOVA analysis was carried out to compare these groups on each dependent variable. All (F) values were statistically significant in favor of high education expenditure %GDP ratios. Final conclusion, states that the lowest levels of sustainable development in the Arab countries due to lowest Education Expenditure %GDP.
