dc.description.abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a training program based on the development of competencies of building achievement tests. A sample of (30) trainees of faculty members at King Faisal University. To achieve this goal; a test was built to measure the competencies of faculty members in the construction of achievement tests. This study revealed that there are significant differences in the dimensions of the test efficiencies of building achievement tests all in favor of the post application. There were statically significant differences based upon the variable specialization between the mean scores of the trainees of faculty members in different dimensions (except construction) where specialists in education and psychology outperformed trainees in remaining specialties (literature, media, business administration, law, home economics) in all dimensions of the test and total score. Meanwhile trainees in business Administration excelled in the analysis of the test data compared with other specializations. There were no differences related to the variable years of experience, in addition to the lack of a statistically significant correlation between academic specialization and years of experience in the different dimensions included in the test. However, regarding the knowledge level of the trainees in building achievement tests was low as revealed in the results of the study. Based on the result of the study, certain recommendations were suggested such as holding a number of training courses for faculty members to aid in development and construction of achievement tests in accordance with established and valid scientific methodology. en_US
