Marital Choice Components from the Viewpoint of the Students of Tafila Technical University of some Demographic Variables

dc.description.abstract This research aimed to identify the marital choice in terms of the importance of the freedom of the marital choice and the relevant criteria, as well as the difficulties facing marital choice. The sample consisted of (368) students, and the researcher used a questionnaire consisting of (22) items for data collection. The validity and reliability have been tested as well. The results indicated that students give high importance to the freedom of the marital choice. As to the criteria of the marital choice, the responses sample expressed high value for feeling of love, physical appearance, age and physical attractiveness as preferences for marital choice. As for the difficulties facing marital choice, results showed that the economic situations as well as the family traditions are highly considered in the sample. In addition, the results showed that there are no statistically significant differences on of the marital choice and the relevant criteria due to gender, college, and place residence, while there were statistically significant differences for the difficulties facing marital choice attributed to science colleges. en_US
