An Evaluation Study of the Child-Oriented Computer-Drawing Programs most Frequently Used by Online Arab Forums

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the child-oriented computer-drawing programs most frequently used by online Arab forums. It also aimed at evaluating these programs by using the developmental scale designed by (Haugland/ shade). The study results showed that the program (Drawing for Children) has been the most commonly used drawing program by Arab forums on the internet followed by the program (Tux paint). The results also showed that the program (Drawing for Children) was non-developmental, while the other program (Tux Paint) was a developmental one and that’s according to the scale of (Haugland/ shade). The study recommended educating art teachers as well as parents about the need for evaluating computer drawing programs designed for children and training them on how to conduct the evaluation process before applying these programs to children.
