Role of Information Efficiency in Administrative Decision- Making in Public Jordanian Universities from the Perspective of the Academic Leaders

Abstract

The study aims to identify the role of information efficiency in administrative decision- making in public Jordanian universities from the perspective of the academic leaders and the relation of information efficiency including variables of job title, faculty, and years of experience. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire of (40) paragraphs covering seven areas has been prepared: information novelty, information speed, information inclusiveness, information clarity, information accuracy, information convenience, economic efficiency of information, information flexibility and ease of use. Upon ensuring validity and stability of the tool, it was implemented on the study sample which consists of (180) members. The results of the study show that the role of information efficiency in administrative decision- making in public Jordanian universities from the prerspective of the academic leaders has a significant level in all its areas and paragraphs. The study also shows that there are no statistically significant differences at level (α= 0.05) according to variables of job title, college type, and years of experience. In the light of these results, the study proposed several recommendations: seeking to provide modern technologies and techniques in order to disseminate information at Jordanian public universities, seeking to make information available in all cases and in exceptional circumstances for the purpose of supporting decision-making of the academic leaders as needed.
