dc.description.abstract This study aims at investigating the perceptions of school headmasters and inspectors towards the extent of use of instructional competencies by teachers in basic schools in Wadi Hadhramout and Sahara districts in the Republic of Yemen. To fulfill this aim, a questionnaire of (62) items of instructional competencies has been designed to obtain necessary information regarding education and academic qualifications as well as the years of experience of (85) headmasters & inspectors. The results of the study indicated low performance of the teachers in basic schools in utilizing the instructional competencies. In addition, the study indicated that there were significant differences according to the function variable in favor of the inspectors. It also showed significant differences in two other variables. These were educational and academic qualifications in the “classroom management” category in favor of educationally qualified persons and the Bachelor Degree respectively, whereas no significant differences were noticed in the variable of “years of experience”. en_US
