Abstract:
The present study aimed at examining the effectiveness of a suggested training program in social development on Initiation skill for pre- school children. The sample of the study consisted of (69) children have been divided randomly into three groups. The first experimental group received a complete training program; the second group received a partial training program. The control group received no training at all. The researcher has also developed a training program that consisted of eight social skills and developed a scale for Initiation. The findings of the study showed that there were significant differences in Initiation. The experimental group, which received a complete training, was the best group in mastering the Initiation skill in comparison with the other experimental group that received a partial training and the control group. The findings of the study also showed that there were no significant differences in Initiation according to gender or the interaction between gender and treatment.
