Abstract:
The purpose of this was study to determine the level of physical fitness of students at the primary grade level at public schools in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study sample included (300) students randomly selected from the upper grades of the primary education level. A battery of tests were applied on this sample that covers the following: speed test, cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, flexibility, agility, and muscular power. The necessary means, standard deviations, and correlations were computed analyze the data of study. The study came up with most suitable body tests for children. Standards of measures on these tests were also determined. These include means, standard deviations and standard scores. The study concluded with some recommendations that call for applying the same tests to all primary school students for the assessment of physical fitness.
