Training Needs for Public School Principals at Al Ain Educational District as Self-Perceived and Perceived by Teachers and Educational Supervisors

dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to identify training needs for public school principals at Al Ain Educational district as self-perceived and perceived by teachers and educational supervisors. It also aimed at finding the impact of the variable of job title on the training needs of principals of public schools. The sample of the study consisted of (71) principals, (543) teachers, and (63) educational supervisors during school year 2009/2010. To achieve the goals of the study, the researcher developed a tool for data collection consisted of 44 items distributed on six domains as developed and implemented by the researcher. The research data was analyzed by using the (SPSS) software program, where frequencies, means, stander deviations were calculated, one –way Anova and scheffe were used. The results of the study revealed that the training needs of the school principals at Al Ain Educational district by domains were as follows: Students affairs, applying educational technology, financial affairs, developing administrative and technical issues, developing school curriculum and school– community relationship. Further, there were statistical significant differences at the following domains; developing administrative and technical issues, applying educational technology, developing school curriculum, and school–community relationship. en_US
