Parents’ attitudes towards the integration of students with disabilities in classroom with their children in Kuwaiti’s society: socio-cultural study

dc.description.abstract The major aim of this study is to examine parents’ attitudes towards the integration of students with disabilities in the classroom with their children. It examines also the relationship between their attitudes with some social and demographic variables. A non-random sample of 387 Kuwaitis were selected, with an average age (34.68), and a standard deviation (11.63). A questionnaire was the major tool for data collection. A scale of Parents’ Attitudes towards integration of their children in public education has been developed by the researchers and used for this study. SPSS (Version 19) has been used for data entry and analysis. Descriptive statistics and test (T) T-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and regression were used. Results showed, in general, that the respondents have shown a positive trend towards integration of their children with disabilities’. Data show that there no significant differences Sunni and Shiite, tribal or urban, parents who have children in primary and middle school, parents who have children with disabilities and parents do not have children with disabilities, and in all the governorates of Kuwait in Parents’ Attitudes towards integration of their children in public education. Data show there is no relationship between Parents’ Attitudes towards integration scale with all social and demographic variables. en_US
