dc.description.abstract This research intends to reveal the social and economical statuses of the common professions during the economical sanction era and the era that followed the downfall of the previous regime. To achieve these objectives , this research relied on the list of the professions prepared by the studies done in this respect. The list included 90 common professions of the Iraqi society. The people selected for this specimen were asked to identify the social and economical statuses of each profession relying on the gradual responded alternatives which starts with number 1 and ends with number 5. The specimen of this research was chosen from the employees the government offices and the self-employed as well as the final year students of the university undergraduate studies . The total number of this specimen was 1000 people, 500 people for each of the two ears . The results showed that the common professions were distributed into four groups, each group included a number of professions. The first group begins with the professions enjoying a top status and ends with the professions which enjoy a very low status regarding the economical and social statuses. The result also showed that some professions which enjoyed an outstanding social status during the economical sanction era , hardly enjoyed a similar economical status afterwards. The results also showed that is a big gap between the which followed the downfall of the previous regime as some professions enjoyed an advanced rank in the social status, but did not enjoy the same or near rank in the economical status. en_US
