dc.description.abstract This study aimed to investigate the degree of commitment in holding societal responsibilities among Jordanian faculties of physical education as perceived by their faculty members. A descriptive approach was used for the purposes of this study. A developed form of Hello's )2013( questionnaire was given to 98 lecturers from physical education faculties from Jordanians universities. All lecturers were selected randomly. Study results showed that the focus on citizenship values achieved the highest rank followed by the economic development support. The third rank was found to be for spreading culture and consultation whereas the fourth and last rank was for achieving community development. The overall score for all fields was high. No statistically significant differences existed regarding administrative position. Moreover, no statistically significant differences existed in the field of community development regarding academic rank. Importantly, significant differences existed across most study fields and the overall questionnaire at the academic rank variable for the favor of professorship, however, no significant difference was found in the field of social development. This study recommended organizing workshops and lectures for general community aiming to address community challenges and finding appropriate solution. en_US
