Abstract:
The objective of this study was to evaluate the content of the Saudi and
Jordanian science textbooks for the fourth grade in the light of international
standards. The study sample consisted of two textbooks of science for the
fourth grade applied in Saudi Arabia and Jordan for the academic year 2017-
2018. To achieve the purpose , the study followed the descriptive analytical
approach by analysing the contents of the science textbooks of the fourth grade
through developing an assessment tool based on the international standards
after verifying its validity and reliability of the analysis. The frequencies and
percentages were calculated to reveal the extent of the international criteria
in the sample contents The most important results of the study indicated a
difference in the degree of the content of the two science textbooks for the
fourth grade Saudi and Jordanian in the international standards in terms of the
number of repetitions of the eight fields in favor of the Saudi textbooks.
