Factors Affecting the Achievement Motivation Among Saudi Youth A Study on a Sample of University Graduates

dc.description.abstract This study has examined the factors affecting the achievement motivation among young Saudi university graduates. These factors are classified into: social, economic, and subjective. It has also identified the components of the achievement motivation scale as follows: being responsible, persistence, time management, planning/proceeding towards the future. The study was aimed at young university graduates during the years 1431- 1437 / 2010-2016 and published an electronic questionnaire via social media, and through networking with individuals in the educational community. The number of respondents was a probabilistic 456, *accounted for the proportion of females (72.81%) and male (27.19%)*. These are descriptive study, which has raised a key question about the factors affecting the achievement motivation among young Saudi university graduates. Other sub-questions were also raised to investigate the factors determining youth motivation to achieve and *conduct*. The study has found that the social, economic and subjective factors affecting achievement motivation among Saudi youth, and those subjective factors are most influential, followed by social factors, and economic factors. In the relationship of the components of motivation scale delivery of social, economic and subjective factors. The study has concluded that achievement motivation among Saudi youth is affected by the sense of responsibility, and perseverance. The results have revealed a strong positive relationship between the factors of motivation achievement (social factors, economic factors, subjective factors) and the sense of responsibility, which showed a medium relationship with planning/ progression towards the future, and time management, were the subjective factors most closely associated with time management. The findings indicated an average impact in the relationship between the balanced socialization pattern and the achievement motivation, as well as in the impact of the controlled socialization pattern. However, this impact was less in the permissive socialization pattern. en_US
