The Compliance of Educational Departments of Al-Balqa Applied University with the NCATE Standards

dc.description.abstract This study aims at identifying the proportion of applying the standards of The American National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Institution (NCATE) in the educational departments of Al-Balqa Applied University. In order to achieve its objectives, the research has developed a questionnaire of 45 sections that are based on the six standards of the American National Council, and these are: Provided Programs, Assessment and Evaluation, Field Experiences, Diversity, Professional Development, Governance and Resources. After verifying its reliability and validity, the questionnaire is distributed on 120 university faculty members. The study shows a number of results. The application of the standards of The American National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Institution )NCATE( in the educational departments of Al-Balqa Applied University is at a “medium level.” In addition, there are no statistically significant differences among the estimated proportions of applying the standards in terms of the college and gender variables while there are significant differences regarding the rank of university faculty members favoring the rank of ”Professor“. en_US
