dc.description.abstract This article has discussed three models of educational innovations, namely the academic model, the productive model, and the cultural model. The author has tried to point out the necessity of change and innovations in the educational systems of the Arab nations in general and those of the Gulf States in particular. A comparison was carried out between the philosophy, objectives, and content of the academic model and educational system in the State of Bahrain. A considerable degree of resemblance was found between the two, while very little, but important, differences were reported. These differences comprised the situation of Kindergarten education which is recommended by the author to be part of the educational system, and curriculum, which needs to be more oriented toward problem - solving. en_US
