The Degree of Total Quality Management Norms Implementation at Al-al-Byat University from the Faculty Staff Points of Views

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the degree of total quality management norms implementation at Al-al-Byat University based on the faculty staff points of views, the effect of gender, faculty, and academic rank on the degree of total quality management norms implementation. The study sample consists of 132 faculty staff members. A questionnaire of 48 items covered four areas (Creation of quality requirements at the university, following-up and developing the teaching-learning process, staff development, decision-making and community service) was answered by them. The study comes up with the following results: - The degree of total quality management norms implementation comes medium. - The study results have no statistical indications on the degree of total quality management norms implementation referring to gender. - There are statistical indications in the degree of norms implementation of total quality management ascribed to the variable of faculty and to the benefit of human faculties over the management overall and over the two fields of preparing total quality management requirements and following up the learning and teaching process. - There are statistical indications in the degree of total quality management norms implementation ascribed to the variable of academic promotion, especially the degree of full-professor, the management overall, and over the two fields of preparing total quality management requirements in the university, and the development and improvement of the personnel. - The researcher has recommended that holding training courses on total quality management to all personnel in the university to promote total quality management norms is essential.
