Abstract:
The current study sought to verify the Standards of Technological Literacy (STL) in the content of developed intermediate science curricula in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this aim, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and designed a content analysis tool for analyzing the content of the targeted text books. Moreover, descriptive statistics were used for processing the data. The results revealed that (STL) were followed in the science textbooks in varying percentages. The nature of technology dimension achieved the highest level (34.9%) and the standards of design came second with (20.3%). In the third level, the technological domains achieved (19.6%) while the standards of technology and community got (13.5%). Finally, the standard was named as “The Abilities of Technological World achieved (11.7%). In general, the verification degree was low. Accordingly, the study recommends paying more attention to STL in the Science textbooks, on both comprehension and balance levels when developing science curricula. Also, the study ends with some recommendations for further research.
