The study aimed at assessing the activation level of the 1st year preparatory developed curriculum by social studies teachers in the light of the National Standards in Egypt To achieve this objective, a teacher evaluation questionnaire for curriculum activation was prepared, and an observation sheet for teachers’ activation of the curriculum throughout their teaching. The tools were applied to (65) teachers for 1st year preparatory stage in Minia governorate during in school year (2008/2009). Results revealed a weak level of activating the developed curriculum of social studies for 1st year preparatory whether on the light of the teachers’ opinions or from the actual observation of their teaching. The study recommended that teachers should be trained in the processes of activating the developed curriculum, helped making available all facilities, and encouraged coordination between schools and local communities. |
