dc.description.abstract |
The research aims to identify and discover the type of the Middle school pupils attitudes at Batna city in Algeria towards English learning as a second foreign language, and to know their effect on the pupils gender in this type. The sample consists of 301 pupils (139 males, 162 females) selected randomly and they have been subjected to a questionnaire to test attitudes towards English language learning during the first term of the school year 2012/2013. The researcher applied the descriptive research method, the statistical mean, and T test to analyze the results. The study shows that the pupils’ attitudes towards English language learning are negative , and there exists differences between gender in favor of females. In view of the results, the researcher suggested some actions in order to reach positive attitudes towards English language learning as a second foreign language in Algeria. |
