Abstract:
The present study provides both quantitative and qualitative assessment of the current implementation of the Continuous evaluation in primary schools under the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia. A randomly selected sample of the study consisted of (790) male and female school principals. For the purpose of data collection, a questionnaire covering different aspects of continuous evaluation were developed. Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient for all domains of the questionnaires was (0.91). To analyze data obtained, means and standard deviation were calculated. Findings of the study revealed that most of school principals had positive attitudes toward employment of continuous evaluation. Based upon the study findings, the researchers recommended that: Continuous evaluation in primary schools should be maintained, but with the goal of improving it according to the best practices in the field of education and according to what the current study has shown.
