dc.description.abstract |
The purpose of this study was to investigate sources of psychological stressors that gifted and talented students were suffering from. The study also aimed at investigating the coping strategies to these stressors. Two scale of stressors and coping strategies were administered on a sample of (121) male and female students that was selected intentionally from three centers. Results showed that the most common stressors were: Emotions, Feelings and Fears, Academic Achievement. Financial and Economic and Relations with parents and siblings were the lowest stressors. With Regard to gender the results showed that there were no significant differences. Moreover, results showed that the physical and verbal aggression was the most used coping strategy, then the cognitive approaches. With regard to gender, the results revealed significant gender differences in favor of males on practicing specific habits strategy. Furthermore a significant correlation between Social Support Seeking strategy and all stressors domains except Academic Achievement domain. |
