Students’ Timetable Mistakes During Registration and Academic Advising Processes, and their Relation to Some Variables

dc.description.abstract This study aimed at investigating the students’ timetable mistakes during registration and academic advising processes at Al-Isra Private University (Amman – Jordan), and to inquire the differences between these mistakes according to the variables of sex, G.P.A., and the educational level To achieve this goal, the researchers developed a (29) item questionnaire that concentrates on these mistakes. It was distributed to (864) male and female students from all colleges of the university. Suitable statistical procedures were used to test the hypotheses of the study. The results showed the followings: 1. The most students’ mistakes during the registration and academic advising processes were: using mediators, registering courses that need pre-requisites, and not following the student guide book that includes registration procedures and making late registration. 2. The most timetable designing mistakes were: closing sections early, time clashing in many courses, and changing names of instructors during or after registration. 3. There were no statistical differences between means of student’s responses on instrument items according to the year of study variable. 4. There was a statistical difference with regard G.P.A. variable in favor of those who have (70-79) G.P.A. In the same time, there were no statistical differences between the means of other G.P.A. groups. 5. There were no statistical differences between means of student’s responses on instrument items according to the sex variable. en_US
