dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to explore the school crises which were encountered by the Omani schools and the ways of treating them as specified by the schools principals. To achieve the research objectives, a questionnaire was developed by the researchers comprised of (60) items about school crises. It was applied to a sample of (275) principals who were studying at the Sultan Qaboos University during the academic year 2004-2005. Only (147) questionnaires were returned. The results indicated that the crises that were related to the students came to achieve higher means, then crises that were related to administration, and crises that were related to teacher, finally crises that were related to local community. The research concluded that there were weaknesses in the abilities of schools’ principals in solving schools’ crises except in few cases between, particularly in the teacher and the community domains. en_US
