dc.description.abstract This study aimed at investigating the effect of instructional software in the development of estimation skill in mathematics of the third grader students in Jordan. To achieve this aim, instructional software was developed and applied to a sample of the study, which consisted of 86 students (43 male and 43 female). The sample were divided into two groups: experimental group which studied by the instructional software, and control group which studied by the traditional method. After the completion of the instructional software, an estimation test was applied and T-test was used to answer the study questions The study results revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the two groups in favor of the experimental group. The study results which based on the achievement level revealed that middle achievers in the experimental group were better than those in the control group. Meanwhile there were no significant differences between high achievers in the two groups, and also there were no significant differences between low achievers in the two groups. en_US
