Abstract:
The aim of the study is to establish criteria for developing an instrument for evaluating the instructional software used in Islamic education at the basic education stage. The researchers followed specific procedures for preparing the criteria which reached finally (136) criteria. The sample of the study consisted of (30) students in higher education program specialized in teaching Islamic education who finished a course in computer education. Validity, reliability, and effectiveness of the instrument were established. The study revealed that: 1-The instrument shown to be effective and trustworthy in evaluating the instructional software used in Islamic education. 2-The reliability coefficient of the instrument was (0.77). Besides, the content validity was high. 3-All statements of the instrument were statistically significant at (a = 0.05). No significant statements were deleted, so the total number of statements was (136). The study recommended that educational organizations have to use the instrument developed in this study for evaluating the instructional software used in Islamic education, study the extent of the appropriateness of such software produced in Jordan for Islamic education, and the use of other researches of the instrument developed in this study in order to improve teaching branches of Islamic education.
