The Impact of Mindfulness Program in Reducing the Symptoms of Psychasthenia among a Sample of Students from Al-Jouf University

Abstract

The study aimed at exploring the relationship between Mindfulness and symptoms of psychasthenia, and the effectiveness of a Mindfulness training program to decrease the symptoms of psychasthenia. To achieve these goals, a sample of 200 students from Al-Jouf University, Department of Special Education, has been selected with an average age (21.3 years) and standard deviation (0.82). The results indicate that a negative correlation and significant difference between Mindfulness and psychasthenia symptoms among the members of the students. Accordingly a sample of 40 students were chosen and divided into two groups, experimental and control(20 students each group). A Mindfulness training program was conducted to find out the differences between the two groups. After one month of training the results shows that the training program has a great impact of Mindfulness on reducing the symptoms of psychasthenia.
