dc.description.abstract |
This study aims to investigate the extent to which the Taibah University (TU) preparatory year (prep-year) faculty members practice human relations as perceived by their students. To achieve this aim, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed among 486 prep-year students in the academic year 2013/2014; the means, The results show that the practice of human relations of the faculty members was average in general. Among the four domains investigated in this study, educational ethics and lesson planning scored the highest. Among the variables in this study, the students’ GPA (Grade Point Average) was found to have significant statistical differences. However, students’ sex and field of study did not indicate any statistical differences. In light of the findings of this study, several recommendations were made. First, there is a need to establish the principles of human relations in the prep-year in. To do that, training courses on human relations need to be conducted for the faculty members. This will only be possible through developing clear university-wide policies to improve the human relations between the teachers and their students in. |
