Abstract:
In the present article, we have insisted on the consideration of El-Kadi Al-Djordjani's book The Mediation between Al-Mutanabbi and his Antagonists from the point of view of the interaction between his work and occidental critique, first with the aim of understanding and eliciting the dimensions of its concepts. Then, we intend to work out the aspects of its contemporaneity which we may bring forth as a contribution in nourishing both critique and eloquence patrimony. We have tried as far as possible to combine description and analysis to determine the points of contact between El-Kadi and western critics in a great number of critique issues. We have also attempted to check the critique criteria scattered in the Mediation, which we have divided into different types: those relating to style such as the 'middle language' (Al- Lugha al Wusta), the techniques of expression, and artistic figuration; those dealing with denotation such as comparison, interaction and ambiguity; and textual ones englobing unit sequencing, composition, and concordance.
