Linguistic Text Science (From the Sequences of the Sentence to the Overall Structure)

Abstract

The linguistic text science, as one of the newest linguistic science branches in modern times, had included several trends in research, which determined (the text- the discourse)Variously to develop variety of targets. Generally, these various textual trends could be belonged to two main styles or patterns: first, the linguistic text science that depends on the linguistic system. Second, the linguistic text science that depends on communication theory. As the first represents the early stage in developing the linguistic studies concerned the text approach, the second represents the later developed stage that dominated most of the linguistic text’s studies. This study aims to discuss the first style, the linguistic text science that depends on the linguistic system, explaining its epistemological assets in studying the texts and showing some of its pioneers’ accomplishments.The study also aims to explain the methodological development in the first style’s look to the text, depicting it, first, as Sequential and interdependent sentences to realize it, the text, as only one Overall structure.
